SAFETY TRAINER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY
Interested and qualified persons are invited to apply by September 15, 2008!
Please share with interested others.
IMPACT teaches people of all ages and abilities the critical emotional and physical skills necessary to stay safe from interpersonal violence.
Becoming an IMPACT Instructor is a rewarding and a demanding emotional and physical occupation, for those with a passion to make a difference.
Trainees learn to play threatening characters for participants as they practice setting verbal and emotional boundaries. Personal safety instructors wear a customized suit and learn to engage in full-force fighting for instructive purposes. Males and females are invited to consider this professional opportunity
Select individuals will be invited to begin a one year, 100 hour professional development program for safety trainers, paid at a training wage of $20/hour after 60 hours of classroom, direct instruction, and supervision.
Upon successful completion of the program and the signing of the hiring contract, instructors are expected to engage in a long-term working relationship with IMPACT. New staff will join a team of instructors available for assignments. Qualified individuals may have additional opportunities to travel to other IMPACT chapters. Instructors work a varied schedule by assignment, based upon current contracts and planned programs. Current instructors work a range of 300 - 650 hours annually, based upon both their schedule preferences and the available work assignments. As programs are delivered days, nights, and weekends, daytime availability is a selection factor.
IMPACT Safety’s programs are delivered to the general public, in-school youth and teens, employees of government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and for- profit businesses. Businesses and organizations implement IMPACT programs for their students, staff and employees when being emotionally and physically safe is a priority. The current seven professional instructors have a total of 50 years experience delivering unique, high quality interpersonal safety training. Their professional backgrounds include clinical counseling, organizational development, experiential education, education, martial arts, and the military. Some also have management experience of non-profit organizations, preschools, restaurants, or programs. Learn more about IMPACT Safety visit www.impactsafety.org.
